GMS can manufacture and supply parts for skips to be fitted by your own fitters. This is a very cost effective way to repair damaged skips. The alternative is to ship the damaged skip, possibly hundreds of miles, to our plant in Derbyshire. This of course incurs two lots of transport costs, and more downtime when the skip in question is not available for use.

HD roll on/off hinge, axle and roller. HD door grab and retaining clip, along with locking finger with locking bar carrier. Bale bar and universal tipping bar, ratchet lock, and rope hooks.

Above centre shows HD door grab made from 15mm plate steel, door retaining clips for roll on/offs, HD locking finger and locking bar carrier.

Above right depicts a bale bar at the top, with a universal tipping bar suitable for any type of skip just below. Painted red we see a ratchet lock. This is the main part of the secure ratchet locking system that can be fitted to roll on/off skips that are fitted with doors. Also, a few rope hooks are shown which can be welded at strategic points as required.

Skip Locks - Help Prevent Theft of Skips

The image below shows a skip fitted with a skip lock to help prevent theft. Only one is required per skip, and makes it extremely difficult for the skip fitted with this device to be stolen.

The skip Lock is designed to provide added security for roll-on / off skips, and is manufactured from steel with a new patented toughened design. This skip Lock has an integrated locking device, which when in the locked position, provides additional strength via three secure steel bars.

At our customers request, we now supply protective parts such as rear light guards, hydraulic ram covers for skip lorries and mudguards for 6 or 8 wheelers. If you have a requirement for anything of this nature, please speak to us and we will make it for you if we can.

We can arrange delivery by our trusted transport companies to anywhere in the UK or Ireland, or your order can be picked up by your own transport from our premises in Alfreton by arrangement. This pick up arrangement is often a back load, whose destination could be anywhere in the British Isles, and skips requiring repair or refurbishment often arrive at our Derbyshire plant as a back load from our customers location whenever possible.
